REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE - see what Acanthus is doing to trade ethically... We believe good business should help make the world a better place, which is why Acanthus: Donate 10% of the price you pay for each piece to charity. Making your jewellery a wonderful gift in more ways than one! RECYCLE: we refer to use recycled paper and products. The beautiful boxes you will receive your jewellery in are also make of cardboard rather than plastic, making them more friendly to the environment. REUSE: Much of our glass in our bespoke collage pendants is reused off-cuts from the glazing industry! REDUCE: buying British where possible also means cutting down on air miles and the pollution that causes. We support British artists and business. Many of our handmade glass beads are commissioned or sourced from British lampwork artists; supporting the growth of artistic skill and small business ventures within Britain. We use Karen Silver, (apart from being of the highest quality, we understand that buying these products supports traditional silversmiths in Thailand, providing positive and sustainable livelihoods). We always seek to create lasting, beautiful jewellery of the highest quality, which its wearer will enjoy and be admired in for many years. In the event your jewellery should be damaged in any way, please contact us with details for a repair quote. At this time it is unfortunately very difficult to trace most beads back to their source and know whether they have been produced in a way that damages the environment or exploits workers. We do what we can to minimise this risk by buying from sources we can trace (such as our British artists), using Karen Silver (which we know to be of benefit to those people) and researching fair-trade and organic alternatives as they arrive on the market. We always welcome any information or feedback our customers may have about our business practices.
